Simple Selection Logic
Choose Extrusion Coating & Lamination if you need nonwoven fabric coating, paper coating, film coating, PE coating, adhesive products or packaging material lamination.

Choose Solvent-Free Lamination if you need eco-friendly flexible packaging, food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging or composite film production without solvent emissions.

Choose Dry Laminating if you need high-barrier multi-layer structures for snacks, coffee, condiments, frozen food, pet food, pharmaceutical pouches or personal care packaging.
Product & Film Structure — How Three Lamination Technologies Build Different Packaging Materials
Different lamination technologies create different material structures. The right process depends on the substrate, adhesive system, barrier requirement, production speed and final packaging application. OYANG provides three roll-to-roll lamination technologies — Extrusion Coating & Lamination, Solvent-Free Lamination and Dry Laminating — to help customers build suitable material structures for nonwoven bags, paper packaging, flexible pouches, food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and high-barrier films.
01 / Extrusion Coating & Lamination
Best for: Nonwoven fabric, PE-coated paper, film coating and packaging materials.
How it works: PE or PP resin is melted and extruded directly onto the substrate surface. The resin forms a functional coating layer without traditional adhesive or drying oven.
Process Flow: Unwinding → Extrusion Coating → Nip Bonding → Rewinding
Material Structure: Base Material + PE / PP Coating Layer
Key Benefits:
  • No adhesive required
  • No drying oven
  • Zero VOC
  • Adds waterproof and heat-sealable surface
  • Suitable for nonwoven bag materials and coated packaging materials

02 / Solvent-Free Lamination
Best for: Eco-friendly flexible packaging, food packaging and pharmaceutical packaging.
How it works: Two-component PU adhesive is mixed and coated onto the first film layer. A second film layer is laminated under pressure, and the adhesive cures without a drying oven.
Process Flow: PU Mixing → Precision Coating → Film Lamination → Curing → Rewinding
Material Structure: Film + Solvent-Free Adhesive + Film
Key Benefits:
  • Zero VOC
  • No drying oven
  • Cleaner production
  • Low solvent residue risk
  • Suitable for food and pharma packaging
  • Supports high-speed flexible packaging production

03 / Dry Laminating
Best for: High-barrier flexible packaging, coffee bags, snack packaging, pet food pouches and pharma pouches.
How it works: Adhesive is coated onto the first substrate and dried through a multi-zone oven. Then the second film layer is laminated under heat and pressure to form a strong multi-layer structure.
Process Flow: Adhesive Coating → Drying Oven → Lamination Nip → Rewinding
Material Structure: Film + Adhesive + Film or PET / AL Foil / PE Multi-layer Structure
Key Benefits:
  • Strong bonding
  • High barrier performance
  • Suitable for aluminum foil structures
  • Good oil, grease and moisture resistance
  • Suitable for demanding food and pharma packaging

Roll-to-Roll Lamination Machine FAQ

  • Q Can I send my material sample for machine recommendation?

    A
Yes. If you are not sure which lamination machine is suitable, you can send your material sample, film structure, product photo or packaging application.

OYANG engineers can evaluate your substrate, lamination structure and production target, then recommend the most suitable machine, such as ONL-M1300 extrusion coating machine, ONL-LA450 solvent-free lamination machine or ON-DL-3125F dry laminating machine.
  • Q Can OYANG provide a complete lamination solution instead of only one machine?

    A
Yes. OYANG can recommend a complete roll-to-roll lamination solution based on your production needs.

The solution can include machine selection, material structure suggestion, lamination technology recommendation, production speed planning, machine configuration, installation support, operator training and after-sales service.
  • Q What information should I provide before requesting a quotation?

    A
To recommend the most suitable lamination machine, please provide:

    Substrate or material type
    Material width
    Lamination structure
    Adhesive or coating method
    Target production speed
    Final packaging application
    Barrier requirement
    Solvent-free or VOC requirement
Sample image, material sample or technical drawing

With these details, OYANG can help you choose the suitable lamination technology and machine configuration.
  • Q Do all roll-to-roll lamination machines need a drying oven?

    A
No. Not all lamination machines require a drying oven.

Extrusion coating and lamination does not need a drying oven because melted PE or PP resin bonds directly to the substrate.
Solvent-free lamination does not need a drying oven because the adhesive cures without solvent evaporation.
Dry laminating requires a drying oven to evaporate the carrier and activate the adhesive before lamination.
  • Q What materials can OYANG lamination machines process?

    A
OYANG roll-to-roll lamination machines can process a wide range of flexible materials, including:

    Nonwoven fabric
    Paper
    OPP / BOPP
    PET
    PE
    CPP
    Aluminum foil
    Nylon
    Labels
    Flexible packaging films

Different materials require different lamination technologies, so customers can send material samples or structure details for machine recommendation.
